Acting as co-patron in CMPI Refresher Course on Advanced Horizons in Medical Physics

Glad to act as the co-patron in a Conference organized by the Association of Medical Physicists of India (Eastern Chapter) held at Medical College Kolkata, on 19th July, 2025.

Physicists are a part-and-parcel of the Radiation Oncology department,  without whom, this department cannot function.

We have recently performed a successful stem cell transplantation with joint effort by the departments of Radiation Oncology and Haematology, Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata. Total body irradiation (TBI) as a prerequisite of stem cell transplantation was done by physicists and radiation oncologists of Radiation dept. under my care, with a dose of 2Gy twice daily for 3 days by V-mat Technique. This is a milestone treatment rarely done before in Kolkata.
