Stem cell transplantation performed at Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata
We have recently performed a successful stem cell transplantation with joint effort by the departments of Radiation Oncology and Haematology, Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata. Total body irradiation (TBI) as a prerequisite of stem cell transplantation was done by physicists and radiation oncologists of Radiation dept. under my care, with a dose of 2Gy twice daily for 3 days by V-mat Technique. This is a milestone treatment rarely done before in Kolkata.
